Department of Physical Training

The history of the Department of Physical Education began 60 years ago with the formation of the Almaty Special Secondary School of Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the USSR.

In 1956, in accordance with the order of the USSR Ministry of Internal Affairs, a physical training cycle was created at the Almaty Specialized Secondary Police School.

The Department of Physical Education was created by the order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 975 dated 11.11.2019, and it is considered an educational, scientific, and structural unit of the Almaty Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan named after M. Eesbulatov and ensures the conduct of educational and research work. In its activities, it is guided by the Laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan on “Higher Education”, “Education”, other laws and regulations, and orders of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The department has its own established traditions. The origins of the department were veterans who are now on a well-deserved retirement. These are retired police lieutenant colonels: Borisov A.P., Smekhov B.A., Plyasulya V.P., Ulitin S.A., a retired colonel of the internal service Bazilevsky V.I.

The department at different periods was headed by such personalities as:

Romanov Anatoly Petrovich, Police Colonel, head of the department during the period from 20.06.2002 to 11.11.2005.

Daulenbayev Mukhit Toilievich Police Colonel, Master of Sports of the USSR in boxing, Honored Boxing Trainer of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Head of the department during the period from 11/25/2005 to 05/19/2009.

Aubakirov Saken Amanzholovich Police Colonel, Master of Sports of international class in wushu sanda, silver medalist of the world championship in wushu sanda (Malaysia), two-time bronze medalist of the European championship in kickboxing, winner of the championship of the Republic of Kazakhstan in hand-to-hand combat. Head of the department during the period from 12/01/2009 to 11/24/2010.

Mazimbayev Marat Kenenbayevich, police lieutenant colonel, Master of Sports of international class, multiple champion of the Republic of Kazakhstan, champion of Asia in 1993 (Thailand), silver medalist of the world championship among military personnel in 1998 (Germany). World professional boxing champion 2005 – 2007. Head of the department during the period from 12/08/2010 to 02/22/2012.

Myrzabekov Kanat Akhmetovich, Police Colonel, Master of Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan in sambo wrestling, multiple champion of the Republic of Kazakhstan in sambo wrestling, bronze medalist of the World Sambo Championship (Bulgaria, Burgas, 2013), silver medalist of the World Sambo Championship (Greece, Burgas, 2013). Nea Moudania Halkidiki, 2014), silver medalist of the World Sambo Championship (Croatia, Porec, 2016), bronze medalist of the World Sambo Championship (Morocco, Casablanca, 2018), winner of the Republic of Kazakhstan Championship in judo among veterans (Almaty, July 27-31, 2023), silver medalist of the World Sambo Championship among masters of sports in Sambo (Oral, September 8-12, 2023). From 2012 to the present is the head of the Department of Physical Education of the Faculty of Professional Training of the Almaty Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan named after M. Esbulatov.

The main task of the department is to organize and conduct physical education classes at a sufficiently high level with students and cadets of the Faculty of Professional Training, in order to develop their physical culture and the ability to implement it in their professional activities.

The department organizes and conducts various kinds of competitions and sports days among students and cadets of the Academy in applied sports, and takes part in public sports events held by the Dynamo Central Sports Center.

The Department of Physical Education in applied sports has trained 3 – Honored Trainers of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 1 – Honored Master of Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 13 – International Class Masters of Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 4 – Masters of Sports of the USSR, 42 – Masters of Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan and more than 1000 candidates for Master of Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Two of them are participants in the Sydney Olympics, three are world champions, two are world champions among police officers, one is a World Cup winner, two are Asian Champions, eight of them are World and Asian medalists.

The department has three different gyms for games, three halls for wrestling and hand-to-hand combat, one boxing hall, two gyms, one playground, one hundred-meter running track, a health complex, and a storage room.
