Faculty of postgraduate education

The Faculty of Postgraduate Education, (hereinafter referred to as the Faculty), is a structural subdivision of the Almaty Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan named after Makan Esbulatov (hereinafter referred to as the Academy), was established in December 2019 by combining doctoral and master’s programmes.

Education at the Faculty is conducted in accordance with the requirements of the State obligatory standard of postgraduate education, approved by the order of the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan from 20 July 2022 № 2, with the Rules of the activity of educational organisations of the internal affairs bodies of the Republic of Kazakhstan, approved by the order of the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan from 13 January 2016 № 23, the Rules of current control of academic progress, interim and final attestation of students of military, special and higher education.

Nowadays the faculty has been implementing next educational programmes:

– The educational programme of doctoral studies has a scientific and pedagogical orientation. After successfully conducting the doctoral dissertation the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) is awarded on the educational programme “8D12301 – Law Enforcement”. The normative duration of mastering the educational programme of doctoral studies is 3 years.

– Training in scientific and pedagogical Master’s degree is carried out under the educational programme “7M12301 – Law Enforcement” and the tem of study equal to 2 years. After successful presenting the master’s dissertation, the degree of “Master of National Security and Military Affairs” is awarded.

– Education in the profile Master’s programme has been carried out under the Bachelor’s degree educational programme of postgraduate education, aimed at training personnel for internal affairs bodies with advanced managerial and professional training, with the awarding of the degrees of Master of Business and Management in the educational programme “7M04112 – Project Management” and Master of National Security and Military Affairs in the educational programme “7M12302 – Law Enforcement”. The term of study is 1 year.

The main direction of activity of the Faculty of Postgraduate Education is the organisation of the educational process with the inclusion of the latest technologies, providing comprehensive and enhanced training of qualified, competitive scientific and pedagogical, as well as managerial personnel in the field of law enforcement both domestically and internationally.

Currently, the Faculty of Postgraduate Education is headed by Doctor of Law, Associate Professor (Associate Professor), Police Colonel Aliya Baiseitova Temirkhanovna. Curatorship over masters and doctoral students is carried out by: senior teacher-methodists Major of Police Kanatbekuly Zhanatbek, Major of Police Zhiyengalieva Aigerim Altynbekovna and teachers-methodists: Major of Police Turarbekova Zhazira Musataevna, Major of Police Tursunova Tana Tursunovna.

The staff of the Faculty have sufficient length of service in law enforcement agencies and have relevant scientific, pedagogical and methodological training.
